Beacon Hill Business Association (BHBA) President Susan Symonds hopes that food lovers far and wide will flock to the Omni Parker House Hotel for the group’s 11th annual “Taste of Beacon Hill” next Thursday.
“We want people to come to experience the fine restaurants here,” Symonds said. “The objective is not just to market the event to our neighbors, but to market it to the entire foodie community.”
Symonds said the event would feature 23 restaurants from around the neighborhood, serving sushi, premium steaks, Italian favorites, Mediterranean cuisine and quality pub fare.
This year’s event will also feature offerings from the Harpoon Brewery, a winery and a premium cocktail vendor. The Beacon Hill Times is the media sponsor of the event.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will go to Horizons for Homeless- a nonprofit that supports homeless children and their families throughout the Commonwealth and the recipient of the Taste of Beacon Hill Charitable Trust for 2011.
While the event is little more than a week away, the BHBA is still looking for help in making it the most successful Taste to date.
“We are still looking for volunteers who want to help, and people to donate items for the silent auction,” Symonds said.
The 11th annual “Taste of Beacon Hill ” takes place at the Omni Parker House Hotel, 60 School St., on Thursday, May 12, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Tickets are $65 for non-members and $60 for current BHBA members; buy four, get one free. Visit www.beaconhillbusinessassociation.org to purchase tickets.
