Josiah Quincy Elementary School ‘diversity Thru Art’

Throughout the months of March and April, artists, designers, educators, parents and arts enthusiasts from our Boston Chinese Community will be leading workshops in Josiah Quincy Elementary School classrooms, exposing children and teachers to the power of expression thru the Visual Arts.

The culmination of these workshops will be an art exhibit on Friday, April 27, at 6 p.m. in the JQS Gymnasium that celebrates all of the students’ artistic works; there will be music and refreshments. This year’s theme is “Diversity Thru Art,” covering a range of significant artists, movements, techniques and their impact on global culture.

At the exhibition and fundraiser on April 27, students will proudly display their work, demonstrating the subjects learned and articulating their varied creative connections to the arts. Parents and community members will be encouraged to purchase student artwork at the event. All funds raised will go towards implementing an after-school program for the arts at JQS in the next school year. Your help is needed to make this event a success – we urge you to join us in making JQS and our Chinese Boston community richer thru art.
