The Friends of the Myrtle Street Playground continued its summer programming with a visit from a Boston Fire Department’s Engine 4 on Aug. 9.
“The kids got to drive the truck, climb all over it and wear the fireman gear,” wrote Corinne Emerick of the Friends group. “The playground and all the neighborhood children thank our wonderful fire department for making this possible.”
Free programming continues at the playground with “Water Day” and ice cream on Thursday, Aug. 23, from 4 to 5 p.m., and live sea creatures from the New England Aquarium on Wednesday, Aug. 29, from 4 to 5 p.m. Both events are free and open to the public.
The playground is located at the intersection of Myrtle and Irving streets. For more information, visit www.myrtlestreetplayground.orgor e-mail [email protected]hotmail.com.
