Five Beacon Hill residents were honored at the Newton Country Day School of the Sacred Heart fall Athletic Awards Assembly. Senior Caroline Diggins (West Cedar Street), a co-captain of Varsity Crew, was voted the team’s MVP. Diggins has rowed all four years with the crew team and raced three of those years in the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta. Sophomore Kathleen Westover (Mount Vernon Street) was voted Varsity Crew’s Most Improved Rower Award. Eighth grader Charlotte Morey (Chestnut Street) was voted Most Improved Player for Middle School Soccer ‘A’ (7-4) and sixth grader Thalis Mourmoutis (Avery Street) received the Most Improved Runner Award for Middle School Cross Country (5-0). Her team placed second in the Park Invitational and in the Roxbury Latin Jamboree with eleven participating school teams. Melina Mourmoutis, a seventh grader, was voted MVP for Middle School Soccer ‘B2’ (2-5).
