New Pay-by-Plate Meters have been installed on
Charles Street!
You may have noticed new meters on Charles Street recently. These meters will be replacing Single-Space meters throughout the City. They are battery-operated meters recharged by solar power and have instructions in English, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese. Multi-Space meters will accept quarters, debit or credit cards from Discover, MasterCard, or Visa, and electronic tap payments such as Apple Pay or Google Pay.
These meters are Pay-By-Plate, meaning you will need your license plate number when you pay at the meter. However, you will not need to display any receipt on your vehicle after paying. Receipts will also be provided electronically.
BHCA Digital Membership Cards!
We hoped you’ve received your digital BHCA Membership Card via email! By switching to digital cards, we’re reducing paper and plastic waste and making better use of our resources while making it easier for members to keep their membership card readily available on their phone.
When you renew or sign up for a new membership, you will receive a letter of thanks via email, which will have the instructions for downloading your membership card to your Apple or Google wallet, allowing you easy access to event check-in and membership benefits.

2026 Annual Appeal
The BHCA works in small and sometimes silent ways to make our neighborhood more livable.
A neighbor reached out to us in 2021 to ask for help in remedying a difficult situation.
The front corner of her brick home sat inches away from the granite curb at a jog in the road, and the corner was continually getting hit by trucks that would pass. Although it took 3 years to resolve between the different agencies at the city, it was finally decided that some parking would be removed from the opposite side of this small street, allowing traffic the avoid the corner, and large trucks became prohibited from the area. The homeowner has recently been able to reset and repoint the damaged bricks and return to a better quality of life.
The BHCA worked towards a resolution with the city until the neighbor was satisfied and the problem was resolved.

Block Captain Program r
eturning to Beacon Hill!
Keeping our neighborhood clean and beautiful needs the combined strength of many individual actions, so we are looking for volunteers and Block Captains.
Block Captains would:
• Work with volunteers in their area to keep an eye on their block
• Report missing bricks, grafitti, or other issues to 311
• See that trees are watered
• Welcome new neighbors with information about BHCA generally and specifically on how to keep Beacon Hill clean
• Participate in regular walk-abouts to pick up trash
But it’s not all about clean-up – our Block Captains and volunteers will also be an important part of Holiday Decorating and Undecorating – celebrating the season working with neighbors and friends – and other neighborhood events.
