Barbara Livingston Hally

Barbara Livingston Hally of Boston died on October 18. She was 93 years old.
Born to Mary Bolles Livingston and Harry Angus Livingston in Jamaica Plain, she was the loving widow of the late John R. Hally, Esquire.
Mrs. Hally was a graduate of Holyoke High School and received an associate’s degree from Becker College in Worcester. During World War II, Mrs. Hally was assigned to Westover Air Force Base in Chicopee as confidential secretary to the base commander. She was executive secretary to the late Erwin N. Griswold, former dean of the Harvard Law School, from 1946 to 1952. Mrs. Hally was an accomplished painter who exhibited her work at the Boston Athenæum and was a member of the Wellesley Artist Society in the town where she lived for 23 years. She was also a contributor to various charities and wrote about life on Beacon Hill, where she lived in her later years, for the Beacon Hill Times.
