Thanksgiving is next week and Christmas is quickly approaching. There are two events this week that can get us into the Christmas spirit and help with some unique gifts.
On Wednesday, Tom Kershaw and the Beacon Hill Civic Association are hosting the annual Garlands and Green: A Holiday Gathering on Wednesday night starting at 6 p.m. at the Hampshire House. For those who live on the Hill or work on the Hill at the Christmas season, the garlands and boughs that decorate many of the streetlights all the more enhance Beacon Hill’s charm. This Dickenson feeling does not just happen but is the work of countless volunteers not only to put up the holly and boughs but help raise the money to buy these items. The fundraiser is one event that can help defray the cost.
Another event to put in your calendar is the annual Art and Crafts Sale that will be taking place this weekend at the Fire Station on Mount Vernon Street. This event showcases the work of many local artisans.
We urge our fellow residents to stop by these two events and support them. These two events make Beacon Hill the neighborhood that we wanted to move to and to call home.
