Not to Be Missed

Living on the Hill, the small size of private outdoor spaces is very noticeable. The South End has many public squares that residents tend as their front yards.  Back Bay has many homes with small front yards and the Commonwealth Mall which is lined with trees and shrubs.  With very few exceptions, we do not have an abundance of front yards or squares.

On this Thursday, the Garden Club of Beacon Hill will be hosting their 84th annual Tour of Hidden Gardens of Beacon Hill.

This is a unique opportunity as many residents open up their backyards to the public and one can get a chance to see how these small yards, usually less than 1,000 square feet, are turned into an urban oasis.

We urge our readers to go on this tour and see these hidden jewels that make living in an historic district like ours so unique and enjoyable.
