92nd Year at the BHCA: Kiefer Selected to Lead Board for Fiscal 2015

The Beacon Hill Civic Association (BHCA) has announced its proposed officers and directors for fiscal ’15.

Mark Kiefer, an aviation industry expert who served as a BHCA director from 2000 to 2006 and is currently a Historic New England council member, has been recommended as president.

Outgoing President Keeta Gilmore is slated to succeed Steve Young as the organization’s chair, while Joan Berndt would return as clerk.

John Hemenway is recommended to resume the role of treasurer for a second term.

New proposed directors are David Beardsley, executive director of Hill House from 2007 to 2010; Maura Smith, a fundraising and communications consultant; Ben Starr, a real estate broker who has served as BHCA Traffic and Parking Committee chair; and Beacon Hill attorney Rachel Thurlow.

Returning proposed directors include John Achatz, Ania Camargo, Tom Clemens, Diana Coldren, John Corey, Russell Gaudreau, Frank McGuire, Rajan Nanda, Paula O’Keeffe, Chris Pedersen, Charlotte Thibodeau, Eve Waterfall, Robert Whitney, Steve Young and Colin Zick.

Directors who have chosen not to run for re-election are Michael Bruck, Graig Fantuzzi and Muriel Finegold.

The proposed slate of BHCA officers and directors was scheduled to be ratified at the organization’s annual meeting on Mon., May 19.
