Blackstone’s of Beacon Hill is celebrating Giving Tuesday on Dec. 2, with a community-driven effort to support Women’s Lunch Place (WLP), a local nonprofit providing meals, shelter, and essential services to women experiencing homelessness or poverty.
As part of the nationwide day of generosity, Blackstone’s will donate 5 percent of all in-store and online sales on Dec. 2 directly to Women’s Lunch Place. The shop is also encouraging customers to visit WLP’s website to discover additional ways they can contribute — from volunteering to purchasing needed items or making a direct donation.
“Giving Tuesday is a chance for small businesses like ours to lift up organizations doing truly transformative work,” said Jennifer Hill, co-owner of Blackstone’s. “Women’s Lunch Place provides dignity and compassion every single day, and we’re honored to support their mission.”
Blackstone’s, a long-standing neighborhood retailer known for community engagement, hopes its Giving Tuesday effort inspires others on Beacon Hill to rally around Women’s Lunch Place during the holiday season — a time when demand for services is at its highest.
