Trash Bin Returned to Myrtle Street!
The BHCA has been working with the Department of Public Works (DPW) to get a trash bin back on Myrtle Street, after several were removed earlier this year due to abuse.
Last week, the DPW agreed to install this bin outside of the Myrtle Street Playground. DPW has promised to keep it there to help us keep the area clean, but let’s do our part to remind neighbors and visitors that this is NOT for household trash, but only for small litter.
Remember that the City can give fines of up to $100 for improperly disposed trash!
Beacon Hill Tree Guards
Our neighborhood has many different sizes and styles of tree guards or fences, although all new installations must be approved by the Beacon Hill Architectural Commission. The purpose of the guards is to protect the tree from dogs and vehicles. Although the guards have been placed and normally maintained by the property owners or residents nearest to the tree guard, they are sitting on public property.
Therefore, lock boxes and bicycles are NOT allowed to be attached to any tree guard and may be removed at any time by the City.
