Thanksgiving has come and with it a few added pounds around the waist have been gained. Now, the race is on for Christmas. If you drive around the neighborhood, Christmas lights and decorations are already out on homes. This is only the calm before the storm of events that will get you into the Christmas spirit. Here are a few!
Tuesday night, the Copley Square tree will be illuminated from 5 to 6 p.m.
On Thursday, The Boston Common Tree will be officially switched on with a celebration from 6 to 8 p.m., and the lights on Commonwealth Mall will be turned on at 8:15 p.m.
On Saturday, The Beacon Hill Civic Association will again be coordinating the decorating of the lampposts with laurel gardens and red bows. Volunteers are still needed. If you have some spare time on Saturday, then volunteer by calling the Civic Association at 617-227-1922.
On Thursday, December, 6, Charles Street will be converted into a pedestrian mall with Victorian Carolers and horse and buggy rides from 6 to 8 p.m. This annual event, sponsored by the Beacon Hill Business Association, will culminate with the lighting of the Christmas tree outside the meeting house at 7:15 p.m.
On December 7, the North End Stroll will be held from 7 to 11 p.m.
On December 8 and 9 Hill House will be holding their annual tree and wreath sale.
On December 8 and 9, NABB will be holding their annual Christmas tree sale at the Clarendon Street Playground from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
These are just a few of the public events, in addition to the many private holiday parties, that will be held in our neighborhood in the next 27 days. Enjoy!
