April is Designated as Membership Month at the Civic Association

The Beacon Hill Civic Association (BHCA), now in its 91st year of working with the Beacon Hill community, is devoting the month of April to encourage residents, businesses, and non-profit organizations to join or renew their membership. There are many important reasons to join the BHCA: to amplify residents’ voices, to act as an advocate on members’ behalf, to keep neighbors informed, and so much more. The BHCA’s membership year runs from July 1-June 30.

Its many committees, comprised primarily of volunteers, implement programs that bring neighbors together, address safety concerns, troubleshoot traffic and parking issues, and work to protect the environment. Just last year, members generously contributed to the BHCA’s 90th Anniversary fund, which will upgrade 55 tree pits on Charles Street this spring.

The BHCA’s ability to undertake all of these activities depends on the size and strength of its membership. The BHCA relies on each and every resident to join them in their mission – “neighbors helping neighbors.” When neighbors are engaged and the community works together, they have more influence, and they are more likely to achieve their common interests.  Your membership dues enable the BHCA to implement all of its programs. Your commitment to the neighborhood through your membership and through volunteer work ensures that the BHCA will continue to preserve and improve this dynamic and historic neighborhood. Please join or renew your BHCA membership today by going online to www.bhcivic.org, calling 617-227-1922, or sending a check to BHCA – 74 Joy Street.
