April Is Membership Month at the BHCA

The Beacon Hill Civic Association, now in its 92nd year of working with the Beacon Hill community, is devoting the month of April to encourage residents, businesses, and nonprofit organizations to join or renew their membership. Serving as an organized voice for the approximately 9,000 residents of Beacon Hill, the BHCA strives to preserve the neighborhood’s historic character while improving the experience of living in such a vibrant and significant community.

Its many committees, comprised primarily of volunteers, implement several enriching programs throughout the year. Some of our programs include publishing a Neighborhood Guide for residents and visitors, organizing community-building events such as the Winter Gala Dinner Dance, and orchestrating the decoration of the neighborhood’s gas lamp posts during the December holidays. The Beacon Hill Civic Association also addresses various safety and traffic concerns for residents, as well as issues such as trash pickup regulations.

The BHCA’s ability to take on all of these activities depends on the size and strength of its membership. The BHCA relies on each and every resident to join them in their mission – “neighbors helping neighbors.” When neighbors are engaged and the community works together, they have more influence and are more likely to achieve their common interests.

Your membership dues enable the BHCA to implement all of their programs and continue its service to Beacon Hill residents. Your commitment to the neighborhood through your membership and through volunteer work ensures that the BHCA will continue to preserve and improve this dynamic and historic neighborhood. Please join or renew your BHCA membership today by going online to www.bhcivic.org, calling 617-227-1922, or sending a check to BHCA – 74 Joy Street.
