Beacon Hill residents are invited to a summer evening filled with camaraderie and gourmet food at the opening night of the Boston Landmarks Orchestra on Wednesday, July 15, at DCR’s Hatch Shell on the Esplanade. Music Director Christopher Wilkins will lead the orchestra in “Rhapsody in Green,” featuring Debussy’s La Mer and Hovhaness’s And God Created Great Whales, a work featuring actual whale songs provided by the New England Aquarium.
The Beacon Hill Civic Association (BHCA) and The Beacon Hill Village (BHV) invite residents to begin the evening by meeting their friends and neighbors at a reception at the Firehouse, 127 Mount Vernon Street, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm, courtesy of Toscano’s Restaurant. Guests may then pick up a pre-ordered box supper to carry to the Esplanade, where seating will be reserved. The concert will begin at 7 pm.
Chef Chris Spagnuolo, owner of Panificio, will once again prepare light box suppers. Guests may choose from a selection of tasty sandwiches on homemade bread. This year’s selection consists of Chicken Tarragon, Sicilian (prosciutto, tomato & mozzarella), Milano (tomato, mozzarella & basil) and Davio (portabella mushroom, eggplant, artichokes, pepperocinis & feta). The box suppers also include a salad, chips, homemade cookies, and a cold drink. Sandwich choices and box supper orders must be made in advance.
The cost of the reception, box supper and concert seating is $25 for BHCA or BHV members and $30 for non-members. Tickets to the reception and seats only are available for $10.
Reservations for seats and box suppers are required. Visit www.bhcivic.org or call 617.227.1922 to make your reservations today. Guests are also welcome to bring their own blankets or chairs and enjoy the free concert beginning at 7pm.
