The Advent School has completed the purchase of 99 West Cedar St. on Beacon Hill, school officials announced Thursday.
The two-story 5,500-square foot building adds to space currently owned and occupied by the school just a few blocks away at 15 and 17 Brimmer St. The school completed an extensive renovation of 99 West Cedar St. in 2011, after entering into a multi-year agreement to lease the building the year before.
“The Advent School has a more than 50-year legacy of serving the families of Boston and we feel a very strong, natural connection to the local community,” Head of School Nicole DuFauchard said in a press release. “The purchase of 99 West Cedar St. is a wonderful opportunity to deepen that connection and to ensure The Advent School remains an urban school with vibrant programming for years to come.”
Michael Price, who managed the sale on behalf of Eastport Real Estate Services, said, “We have enjoyed a tremendous relationship with The Advent School as our tenant and their purchase of the property is a logical transition. I am personally pleased that this building will remain an important part of the neighborhood’s fabric and continue to serve the community’s educational needs.”
