Beacon Hill supports ‘Trick or Treat for UNICEF’

Dear Editor:

As a volunteer for the New England office of the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, I’d like to thank businesses, residents and particularly the children of Beacon Hill for supporting “Trick or Treat for UNICEF” this past Halloween.

Once again, Hill House distributed the little orange boxes to neighborhood children at its Halloween party. Many local schools participated and nine

Charles Street businesses displayed boxes and collected change at check out counters: Lala Rokh, Bin 26, Toscano, Charles Street Liquors, the Red Wagon, Gary Drug, Charles Street Hardware, Blackstone’s of Beacon Hill and Beacon Hill Liquor. Thanks to one and all.

“Trick or Treat for UNICEF: began in 1950 as a way to help kids who need more than candy.  Through the decades this country’s children have raised more than $175 million for the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, helping kids in 180 countries receive life-giving nutrition, health care, education, protection and clean water. To make a one-time $10 donation to “Trick or Treat for UNICEF,” simply text “TOT” to: 864233 or use the UNICEF selection next time you are using a CoinStar machine. The need has never been greater!

As always, our neighborhood rocked Halloween. We should all be proud of our generosity to children, here and abroad, on this festive family night.
