By Beth Treffeisen

This winter, cozy up, stay indoors and order in from Beacon Hill’s Persian restaurant Lala Rokh and pair it with a nice bottle of wine from Charles Street Liquors.

By ordering online, you can get high-end Iranian cuisine from Lala Rokh paired with your favorite alcoholic-drink from Charles Street Liquors delivered to your door in one package ready-to-go for any evening occasion in less than an hour.

“It’s fun pairing up with a local restaurant,” said Chris Pedersen from Charles Street Liquors. “Everybody is busy and they get home and don’t have time to shop and don’t feel like going out for dinner and now you can enjoy that in your own home.”

The delivery service will be running throughout the holiday season and winter months. Service will go to Beacon Hill, Back Bay, South End and other abutting downtown neighborhoods to ensure the food is delivered like it just came out of the kitchen.

The idea came to Babak Bina of Lala Rokh when he noticed an up-tick of customers ordering food to go and started to think of a way to expand delivery.

“I just thought what goes well with food – wine!” said Bina.

Bina soon paired up with Pedersen from Charles Street Liquors, which already sees an increase in deliveries in the winter, to offer something unique to the neighborhood.

By having it delivered straight to your door, Bina said, “It’s a great way to not have to leave your home and stay by the fire place.”

Customers can order the pair or individually from the two businesses online at either of their websites. The paired service will be running every evening from 5p.m. to 10p.m. although you can order from Charles Street Liquors starting at 11a.m.

The entire menu and specials that are listed online are available for delivery. The orders, although coming from two separate places will be sent to the customer at the same time using the same delivery service.

Favorites from Lala Rokh include braised short ribs with bitter orange juice, whole Cornish Hen that is marinated and grilled and Ghaliyeh mahi, which is cod and tamarind.

Over at Charles Street Liquors selections include fine wines, craft beers and specialty spirits that all can be paired with dinner.

Pedersen said, they wanted to offer a gourmet food delivery service to the neighborhood that will provide residents more than just fast-food such as pizza to be sent to their homes.

He continued, “It’s nice food delivered and combine it with a great bottle of wine or a great craft beer and have a chance to stay in – there’s nothing better than that.”
