On May 6 at 1:30 p.m., Musicians from Marlboro return to perform at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum’s Sunday Concert Series.
Each summer, leading young professional musicians train with master artists in the rural town of Marlboro, Vermont. Musicians exchange ideas, rehearse over 200 chamber orchestra pieces in depth, and perform weekend concerts. The Musicians from Marlboro are led by pianist and artistic director Mitsuko Uchida, and they are internationally recognized for their sense of discovery and passion.
The May 6 program will feature: Tessa Lark and Robin Scott, violin; Rebecca Albers and Molly Carr; viola; and Marcy Rosen, cello. The quintet will perform: Haydn, Quartet in D Major, Op. 20, No. 4; Penderecki, String Trio; and Brahms, String Quintet in F Major, Op. 88.
The concert will take place in the Museum’s Calderwood Hall, located at 25 Evans Way, Boston, Mass. Tickets are required. These may be purchased in advance or at the door, and include Museum admission.
