The Pop’s was brilliant. The Fireworks were dazzling.
The New Year, as usual, came in with a bang instead of a whimper.
Hundreds of thousands descended into the city and filled neighborhoods like ours almost without a single negative event except for the sidewalk trash that so many people tend to leave behind or at the Esplanade where the remnants from the large crowd are almost as impressive as the music and fireworks.
Mayor Thomas Menino called the 36th annual First Night perhaps the greatest night of its kind in any city of America – and he is right.
Every year this has been a night for celebration and for fun, for families and for everyone.
