Last Call for Evening on the Esplanade

Beacon Hillers enjoy The Landmark Orchestra on opening night at the Hatch Shell on the Esplanade.

Tomorrow’s the night and the weather looks great for the fifth annual Evening on the Esplanade. Join friends and neighbors for an old-fashioned evening of summer fun, tasty food and classical music at the Landmark Orchestra’s opening night, Wednesday, July 11, at DCR’s Hatch Shell on the Esplanade. The event hosted by the Beacon Hill Civic Association, starts with a reception at the Firehouse, 127 Mt. Vernon Street between 5:30-6:30pm. Guests can pick-up a pre-ordered box supper; enjoy a glass of wine or beer, and appetizers courtesy of Toscano’s.

Chef Chris Spagnuolo, owner of Panificio, will prepare the light box suppers. Guests may choose in advance from a variety of sandwiches made on homemade bread. The box suppers also include a bag of chips, homemade cookies and a cold drink.

After the reception friends and neighbors will stroll over to the Esplanade where the concert will begin at 7pm. Music Director Christopher Wilkins will lead the orchestra in All Copland, a selection of American music by Aaron Copland.

The cost of the reception, box supper and concert seating is $22 for BHCA members and $25 for non-members. Tickets to the reception and seats only are available for $8.

Reservations for seats and box suppers are required by 3pm today, July 10. Visit www.bhcivic.org or call 617.227.1922. Guests are also welcome to bring their own blankets or chairs and enjoy the free concert.
