At its annual meeting on May 21st, the BHCA Board of Directors announced that it was launching a 90th Anniversary capital campaign to enhance Charles Street. The goal of the campaign was to celebrate the organization’s anniversary by raising funds to install uniform tree guards and planting for the 53 trees on Charles Street, as well as replace trees as necessary. Any additional monies would be put into a fund for future maintenance.
Fast forward three months…over 90 people have contributed to BHCA’s 90th Anniversary campaign! According to Executive Director, MaryLee Halpin “The objective of this campaign has touched the hearts and minds of so many people. I want to thank everyone who has contributed to the success of this campaign.”
Campaign Co-Chairs Alyson Lindsey and Bob Owens commented, “We are thrilled with the response to this campaign. Charles Street, which is at the heart of our neighborhood, will be so much more attractive with the addition of the tree guards and plantings. This initiative will benefit residents, businesses and visitors for years to come.”
The campaign is set to close on September 30th. If you would like to make a contribution, there is still time. Contributions to the fund can be made on-line at bhcivic.org or by contacting the BHCA staff at [email protected] or 1.617.227.1922.
