Student Jobs Are Important

Thousands of Boston students will be seeking jobs this summer and it appears that there will not be enough jobs to go around.

Apparently the city’s budget cannot provide all the jobs needed for the number of students expected to apply for them.

The city will be heavily dependent on the private sector to step-up to the plate and offer some summer jobs that could help a student support their family and education.

Students want to work but need the opportunity to do so. Unfortunately some students will be left behind this summer unless the private sector comes through.

If any business can use help this summer, call the Mayor’s Office and find out how to put a student to work.

There is no debate that keeping local teens off the street and gainfully employed during their summer vacation will go a long way in helping at risk teens keep out of trouble.
