The Public Works Department (PDW) opted to postpone its application to construct ADA-compliant ramps at brick and concrete sidewalks within the Historic Beacon Hill District on Thursday, according to Joel Pierce, chairman of the Beacon Hill Architectural Commission.
The PDW is seeking conceptual approval for conceptual approval of concrete ramps with brick-red, composite tactile-strips. If approved, the PDW proposes commencing work on Anderson, Derne, Joy and Mt. Vernon streets in the next construction season.
Pierce said the commission would revisit the application at a date yet to determined.
The commission’s next public hearing is scheduled for Nov. 21 at Room 801 in City Hall.
