To commemorate the 81st anniversary of the ratification of the 21st Amendment, which mandated a nationwide prohibition on alcohol, the popular Beacon Hill tavern of the same name launches a 12-week cocktail series on Dec. 5.
“We began as a speakeasy tavern during the Prohibition era and wanted to tap into history,” Darius Pakrooh, the establishment’s marketing and social media director.”
Every week for the duration of the series, the 21st Amendment will debut a new signature cocktail, and each will feature what Pakrooh describes as a “historical anecdote” that pays tribute to the city’s past.
“There is an air of time and history included in the drinks,” Pakrooh said.
The 21st Amendment’s first “integrated cocktail series” was also launched with the intention of making the winter months a little more bearable.
“We wanted to do something different for winter by offering a different cocktail each week to help our patrons get through the winter,” Pakrooh said.
The 21st Amendment is located beside the State House at 150 Bowdoin St. on Beacon Hill. For more information, call 617-227-7100 or visit www.21stboston.com.
