“If this is the last, let’s make it a blast!” all too often is the thought of party-goers on New Year’s Eve as we usher out the old year and ring in the new.
But New Year’s Eve is a day just like any other — by which we mean that too much “partying” on New Year’s Eve can be just as destructive and just as tragic as on any other occasion if we overindulge and drink & drive.
Many of us have smartened up in recent years. We stay at hotels or at friends’ homes overnight or we have designated drivers or limos or use Uber.
But some among us still have not gotten the message that too much of anything is not a good thing — and that drinking & driving is never a good idea. None of us should drink & drive and all of us have a responsibility to make sure that none of our fellow holiday party-goers are allowed to drive home while under the influence.
Let’s make this New Year’s Eve a safe one for ourselves, our families, and our friends — and begin 2016 on a positive note.
