British Diplomacy at Beacon Hill Women’s Forum

Tonight, the Beacon Hill Women’s Forum (BHWF) presents “The British are Coming!” with diplomate Susie Kitchen.  Ms. Kitchen, who has seen a great deal of the world, currently is Britain’s Consul General in Boston and has lived on Beacon Hill since 2012 with her husband and two children. In previous assignments, she served the UK government in Tanzania, London, and Guatemala. Prior to becoming a diplomate, Susie promoted international development and children’s health through organizations in Pakistan and El Salvador. She and her dual-nationality family are delighted to be living in New England, with its longstanding links to the UK, and she will speak about her globe-trotting adventures as well as the challenges of living abroad.

The evening’s presentations include a Neighborhood Narrative by the owner/managers of Follain, a new Beacon Hill store specializing in safe and effective beauty products. Tara Foley and Amy Murphy will share their passion for educating women about the benefits of safe and clean ingredients in our skincare products. Founded in 2013 by Ms. Foley, Follain has strict ingredient safety guidelines for the 40 US brands it offers, including attention to sustainable eco-packaging to reduce waste.  In addition to its Beacon Hill location at 65 Charles Street, Follain has stores in the South End, Nantucket, and Union Market, DC.

The event takes place at Hampshire House, 84 Beacon St, starting at 6 pm for socializing and cash bar. The talk begins promptly at 7 pm; reservations are required. For more information, go to www.beaconhillwomensforum.com. BHWF is a non-profit social organization and all are invited to join. A one-time guest pass is available online for $40 for those interested in testing the waters.
