Color Your World: Coloring for Adults —  Fridays 2-4, September 9th –December 16th.  Join us for a relaxing time of coloring. We’ll supply coloring pages, colored pencils, markers, and crayons. Bring your own supplies if you prefer.

Author Talk & Booking Signing  Get a Grip on Business Writing  by Kim Kerrigan & Steven R Wells – Thursday, September 15th  , 6:30 pm   Want to improve your business writing skills?  No matter what your level of writing skills, you will strengthen and cultivate your written communication by completing the 18 lively and down-to-earth lessons found in this self-study book.  Copies of the book will be available for sale.

Book Discussion Group – Thursday, September 15th, 3 pm

We will be discussing All the Light We Cannot See  by Anthony Doerr.  Copies of the book are available at the West End Branch Library.

Ongoing Programs

English as a Second Language (ESL)Conversation Group  — Every Tuesday from 1:00 pm -2:30 pm. Come and practice your English language skills with other newcomers and a facilitator.

 

Yoga for Seniors  — Every Tuesday  2:45-3:30pm  Classes are led by Tatiana Nekrasova, a certified yoga instructor.

After-Work Tai Chi Group – Every Thursday 5:00-6:00 pm. Come and try this low impact energy exercise with yang-style tai chi instructor Arthur Soo-Hoo.

Guided Imagery Meditation with Polly Fletcher – Every Friday 12:15-1:00 pm. Want more energy and focus? Join Polly Fletcher, Get Your Vibe On Coach and Occupational Therapist, for Guided Visualization Meditation. Strengthen your Mental Focus and transform limiting thoughts to reduce stress and improve overall health.

Introduction to Laptops, iPads, E-Readers – By appointment only.  Have a new gadget or want to learn more about the one you have?  The West End Branch Library  offers one-on-one sessions to help.  To set up an appointment you can email Helen Bender at [email protected] or call the Branch at 617-523-3957.

Preschool Story Hour – Every Tuesday 10:30-11:30 a.m. Children ages 3 to 5 and their caregivers, join the West End Children’s Librarian for weekly stories, songs, rhymes, and movement. This is a high-energy story time, and families, daycares, and school groups are all welcome to drop in.

 

Toddler Time – Every Wednesday 10:30-11:30 a.m. Children ages 18 months to 3 years and their caregivers, join the West End Children’s Librarian for developmentally appropriate stories, rhymes, movement, and songs. Drop-in for families. Groups, please contact the library ahead of time.

Bouncing Babies – Every Friday, starting September 9, 10-11 a.m. An exciting new program! Babies birth to 18 months and their caregivers, join the West End Children’s Librarian for stories, songs, tickles, and bounces especially for the library’s youngest patrons. Drop-in for families only.
