Historic New England hosted “A Century on The Hill” on Sept. 30, with Committee Co-chairs Joan and Ernst Berndt, Karen and Warren McFarlan, and Gina and Steve White.
Beacon Hill residents Joan and Ernst Berndt served as co-chairs of the event and welcomed more than 100 guests to the historic Otis House for an elegant cocktail reception celebrating the 100th anniversary of preserving Otis House. The evening was a rare opportunity to enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres inside the historic house-museum. The event raised more than $100,000 to benefit the preservation and sharing of New England heritage.In addition to the historic setting, guests enjoy a special menu of passed hors d’oeuvres and signature cocktails from Capers Catering, music performed by harpist Nancy Hurrell and violinist Sophie Wang and special lighting effects from Lewis Lighting Design.
