BHCA Annual Meeting Held

The Beacon Hill Civic Association’s 96th Annual Meeting and election of Officers and Directors was held on May 21st at the Union Club. Over 120 members attended the occasion where the year’s accomplishments were highlighted by Suzanne Besser, outgoing President. Mr. Jamie Seagle, President of Rogerson Communities, gave a fascinating talk on the history of low-income housing on Beacon Hill, and the role that Rogerson Communities has played in the development of several low-income housing facilities here. Mark Kiefer, outgoing Chair of the BHCA, reminisced on his many years on the board, and ceremonially passed the gavel to the incoming Chair, Eve Waterfall. Incoming President Robert Whitney and new board members Bruce Kiernan, Andrew Kirk, Maggie Moran, and Tim Pingree were also in attendance. Perhaps the highlight of the evening was the presentation of the 22nd Beacon Award to Beacon Hill resident and former BHCA board member Paula O’Keeffe. Board member Russell Gaudreau and all members present applauded Paula on her many years of service to the community.
