The Beacon Hill Civic Association (BHCA) Safety Committee will again welcome police at an informal “meet and greet” later this month, allowing residents the opportunity to talk with local law enforcement.

Captain Bernie O’Rourke and Sgt. Tom Lema, both of Boston Police Area A-1, are expected to join Safety Committee Chair Paula O’Keeffe at the Firehouse, located at 127 Mount Vernon St., on Thursday, Oct. 27, at 7:30 p.m. The officers will share crime statistics and answer questions.

“Community meeting are good for information sharing and educating residents and business people relative to crime-prevention techniques,” O’Rourke said. ”It’s also helpful to bring issues to our attention that we can easily address. Getting people more involved in their community is absolutely beneficial to all.”

O’Keeffe said, “Even though crime rates are now low on Beacon Hill, police want to meet and get to know the people in the neighborhood. Please come and see them with any problems, questions or other issues.”
