Membership Cards!
Thank you for being a member of the Beacon Hill Civic Association! We’re excited to introduce digital membership cards — a more convenient and environmentally friendly way to access your BHCA membership.
By switching to digital cards, we’re reducing paper and plastic waste and making better use of our resources while making it easier for members to keep their membership card readily available on their phone.
When you renew or sign up for a new membership, you will receive a letter of thanks via email, which will have the instructions for downloading your membership card to your Apple or Google wallet, allowing you easy access to event check-in and membership benefits.

2026 Annual Appeal
The BHCA works in small and sometimes silent ways to make our neighborhood more liveable. Many of you who cross Cambridge Street near Joy Street on a regular basis may recall that once it was impossible to cross both sides of the street in one try. The BHCA worked with City Hall to get the time given to cross extended, allowing pedestrians to cross carefully across both sides of the street with their shopping carts and baby carriages, and also have time to look for oncoming bikes.

Block Captain Program
returning to Beacon Hill!
The BHCA has been working with the Streets & Sidewalks Committee to revive the Block Captain program as a way to address quality of life concerns and encourage a communal sense of respect for the neighborhood, and we’d like you to be a part of it!
Beacon Hill is full of charm with its brick sidewalks, gas lamps, historic architecture, quaint shops and friendly neighbors. Unfortunately, pet waste and misplaced trash can detract from Beacon Hill’s beauty.
Keeping our neighborhood clean and beautiful needs the combined strength of many individual actions, so we are looking for volunteers and Block Captains.
Block Captains would:
• work with volunteers in their area
• keep an eye on their block
• report missing bricks or other issues to 311
• see that trees are watered
• welcome new neighbors with information about BHCA generally and specifically on how to keep Beacon Hill clean
• participate in regular walk-abouts to pick up trash
But it’s not all about clean-up – our Block Captains and volunteers will also be an important part of Holiday Decorating and Undecorating – celebrating the season working with neighbors and friends – and other neighborhood events.
