An Eevening of Inspiration at Upstairs Downstairs Home

By Laura Cousineau

This past Thursday, Sept. 25, Upstairs Downstairs Home was delighted to host Miguel Rosales, internationally acclaimed bridge designer and author, for our Fall Speaker Series event. The evening brought together friends, neighbors, and design enthusiasts for a memorable conversation about architecture, artistry, and community.

We were especially proud to celebrate Miguel’s recent recognition by the Boston City Council, which named July 9  “Miguel Rosales Day” in honor of his remarkable contributions to Boston’s bridges and urban landscape. Guests had the unique opportunity to hear firsthand about his visionary projects, as highlighted in his book ‘Bridges as Structural Art,’ and to participate in a book signing.

Hosting this event in our Beacon Hill store allowed us to share our space not just as a home decor shop, but as a gathering place for creativity, conversation, and community. From the thoughtfully curated furnishings to the intimate ambiance of Upstairs Downstairs Home, our store provided the backdrop for an evening of inspiration and connection.

We are grateful to everyone who joined us and encourage those who missed it to stop by the store to explore our carefully selected home collections and keep an eye out for when we announce our next Speaker Series event! At Upstairs Downstairs Home, every visit is an opportunity to experience beauty, design, and community in the heart of Beacon Hill.
